The office of Ayatollah Sayed Kamal al-Haydari announces that Sunday, 18th Oct 2020 will be the first of Rabi al-Awal 1442 A.H.
The scientific and astronomic calculations show that the Geocentric New Moon (الاقتران المركزي) will occur on Friday 16th Oct 2020 at 19:31 GST but moon sighting is impossible even with telescope in any part of world at Friday evening.
On Saturday 17th as the below image shows, moon sighting in most of Arabic and Islamic countries is possible with naked eyes. Thus, Sunday 18th Oct 2020 will be the first of Rabi al-Awal 1442 A.H.
